Getting around

This is more a travelling and planing blog so if you are looking for my daily life, you’ll have to look somewhere else :)

Chernobyl

This day was all about Chernobyl. A two-hour bus ride took me and some other tourists to the site where the worlds largest civil nuclear disaster took place. The guide told us it’s “perfectly safe”. Very often he showed the radiation with a dosimeter.  This picture shows the radiation on the wheels of the military vehicles used on the site in 1986. The reading was high, put sill “safe”

The town Chernobyl is in the three km zone. Still people lives and works here, but only temporary. It’s the staff working on the site, such as our guide. I took a lot of pictures, so here is a gallery. To morrow I’m off to Odessa, I will skip Gamlesvenskby, it’s to hot sitting on the bike, I long for water and to go swimming.
