Getting around

This is more a travelling and planing blog so if you are looking for my daily life, you’ll have to look somewhere else :)

2011 Ukrainian tour

This year I will go back to see more of the Ukraine. last year I missed Poltava and Gamlesvenskby. simply because it was so hot. I then decided to go straight to Odessa to get some ocean air.
I hope the heat will stay in reasonable proportions. Anyway, my route is:
Warszawa – Lviv – Kiev (I’m not sure if I stay ther) – Poltava – Zaporizhzhya – Yalta – The Carpathian – Krakow and back home.
My highlights this year will probably be:
Lviv – a Middle Ages town that is supposed to be less commercialized the the western ones.
Poltava – if you know Swedish history, you’ll know why. Beside the battle I’ve learned Poltava is the main culture town and should be very pretty.
Gamlesvenskby – a small village where people lives who originate from Sweden.
Crimea, not for the ocean but for its history. Tatars, cossacks and soviet troups makes a good mixture.
The Carpathians in the west. There I hope to find some nice roads.

All in all it’s about 5000 km. And I will be on the roads for a fortnight. In average I will travel about 400 km a day. But much more in the beginning and in the end. I have planed to stay some more days in Lviv and in Yalta.

So please join me by reading my blog, I’ll try to write every day.
